How It Works?
Getting treatment and medical assistance with House Call Doctor is fast, simple, and easy. Here’s how our service works.
1. Call or Book Online or on App
There are 3 easy ways to book a House Call Doctor simply by calling 13 55 66, booking online or through our free app. One of our consultants will confirm your booking and a Doctor will be dispatched during our hours of operation.
2. Doctor Dispatched to You
Our home doctors are accompanied by a chaperone who are there to drive the Doctor to appointments and assist where necessary. The chaperone will call ahead to provide you with an estimated time of arrival and keep you up to date with any changes.
3. See Doctor
Usually within 2 hours, a Doctor and chaperone will arrive at your home, assess your complaint, make a diagnosis and provide medication and, or a prescription if required, all in the comfort of your own home. All appointments are bulk billed for Medicare and DVA card holders.
4. Take Medication
The Doctor will provide you with enough medication to get you through until your pharmacy is open. They may also provide you with a prescription where required. All medication provided during your appointment is free of charge to all patients.
5. Details Sent to Your Regular GP
After treatment, our doctor will send a report to your regular GP the next business day to give an update on your condition and treatment provided. This allows your regular Doctor to continue or adjust their treatment as necessary whilst also serving as a record of your medical history.
6. Feel Better
After being treated by one of our home visiting doctors, you can relax. Make sure you follow our doctor’s instructions for recovery and download our app or save our number so you can always feel better sooner.
At House Call Doctor, our patients are our priority
Our home doctors work hard 365 days a year right across the state in a caring and compassionate manner, treating children, adults and the elderly both at home and in aged care facilities. Why suffer any longer? Why wait in the emergency department or till your regular GP opens? Call us now and start feeling better sooner.
Our House Call Home Doctors are highly trained medical professionals who specialise in after hours medicine and home treatments. By treating patients in their homes, we’re able to take the load off busy emergency departments and hospitals, helping to save the government in order of $400 per patient.
After treating you in your home, our home visiting doctors will then send a report to your regular GP the next business day. This report will contain details of your condition and the treatment you’ve been given. That way, your treatment can be continued or modified by your regular GP if necessary. And because we care, we’ll also provide enough medication to get you through the night at no cost to you.
House Call Doctor is accredited by the Federal Department of Health under the AMDS program, so you can be sure that our practice is recognised as a professional medical deputising service.
At House Call Doctor, we don’t just treat illnesses and ailments – we treat people. It is important to us to ensure that we provide a fast, efficient and high quality service to all patients. Just like in the early days of medicine when doctors routinely saw patients in the comfort of their own home, our practitioners are returning this service to the people of Queensland.
Our doctors can treat a wide variety of conditions and ailments that are non-emergency issues. In general, our practitioners deal with category 4 or 5 medical conditions, which are classified as non-life threatening. The following are some of the conditions and ailments that our clients commonly use our service for:
- Cold and flu symptoms
- Migraines and headaches
- Sprains, neck and back pain
- Minor lacerations and trauma

- Post-operative care – includes catheterisation, wound care, etc.
Please keep in mind that these are just some of the many things that our doctors can treat for you at your home. Why Use House Call Doctor?
There are many reasons why after hours doctors are great, but the following are why House Call Doctor should be your top choice for this service:
Open When Your GP is Closed
Our service makes getting treatment after hours, or when your regular doctor is closed, easier and faster. At House Call Doctor, our doctors come to you after hours. This means no waiting in a hospital emergency department and no time wasted getting to and from the hospital because your regular doctor is closed.
Comfort in Your Own Home
No other place can put you more at ease and make you feel more comfortable than your own home. This is one of the main reasons why our patients love when our doctors come to treat them after hours. They rest easy and can relax while waiting for the doctor, which can make recovery faster and more effective.
Fast Response Times
Many of our patients have expressed their appreciation for our fast response times in arriving to their homes. Although we can’t guarantee an exact response time, we’ll always get to you as fast as we can – normally within 2 hours of your call. We’ll also give you updates regarding our estimated time of arrival should any changes occur.
Highly Trained Doctors
All our Queensland and Brisbane home doctors are highly qualified and registered medical practitioners training in after hours care, ensuring you get the treatment and assistance you need. Our service is accredited by the Federal Department of Health, which recognises us as a qualified medical deputising service.
Whenever one of our doctors comes in to treat you, you’ll get the medication you need to last you through the night at no cost. This is part of our service to make sure that you recover as fast as possible or at least stay on a treatment path until you can see your regular GP so you can feel better sooner.
Correspondence with Your GP
After treating you in your home, our doctor will send a report to your regular GP the next business day. This ensures that your doctor will have an idea of what your current condition is and what treatment and medication (if any) were administered. This report allows your GP to continue or adjust your treatment as necessary.
