House Call Doctor hits a record 10,000 Facebook followers as the service continues to expand across regional Queensland.

The 100 percent, bulk-billed service now has teams of doctors making house calls across Hervey Bay, Maryborough, Bundaberg, Rockhampton, Gladstone, Toowoomba and Townsville.

House Call Doctor Chief Executive Wayne Ormond thanked patients for their support and said the feedback proved there was a real need for an efficient after-hours house call service.

“There are weeks where we’ve had almost 2000 new followers. We like to post stories about medical breakthroughs as well as light hearted posts to give people a reason to smile.”

A staggering 91% of the House Call Doctor fan-base are women with 61% of those aged between 25-44 years.

“A lot of mums rely on House Call Doctor because we can get to them when their regular GP is closed.”
