REINFORCEMENTS are rolling out to keep up with growing demand for House Call Doctor visits across the Bundaberg, Hervey Bay, Maryborough, Rockhampton and Toowoomba regions.
Six additional cars are on the road as of this weekend with extra doctors and chaperones to treat residents who need medical help after-hours.
House Call Doctor’s 13 55 66 call centre has been ringing hot with call logs showing more than a third of patients are struggling with the flu.
House Call Doctor Chief Executive Officer Wayne Ormond said “In these freezing conditions people are really appreciating the fact they can stay at home and have a doctor come to them and it is good news for our already busy emergency wards”.
Mr Ormond said House Call Doctor visits are 100 percent bulk-billed for people with Medicare or DVA cards.
“More vehicles on the road, means more doctors, and that means more patients get the medical help they need and they get to wait in the comfort of their home without being a cent out of pocket,” he said.
House Call Doctor operates from 6pm on weekdays, from noon on Saturday and 24 hours a day on Sunday and Public holidays.
House Call Doctor will provide each patient’s regular GP with all the consultation notes from the visit.
Patients can book an appointment by calling 13 55 66 or book online at www.housecalldoctor.com.au
