In response to Coronavirus (COVID-19), House Call Doctor has expanded its trusted healthcare service so you can safely access a doctor online with a real-time video consultation anywhere in Australia.

The House Call Doctor telehealth service gives you and your family peace of mind that you can be triaged, diagnosed and receive medical advice without leaving home.

If you’re identified during screening as ‘high-risk’ we’ll help guide you through the next steps, so you receive the medical treatment and care you need.

If medicine is required, our doctors can write prescriptions and our team can help arrange home delivery. We can also issue medical certificates.

In-home, telehealth consultations help you avoid contact with other patients by keeping you out of clinic waiting rooms to help limit the potential spread of the virus.

How does House Call Doctor Telehealth work?

Use your smartphone, tablet or computer to book online or call 13 55 66.

Patients are triaged and asked questions about their symptoms and any recent travel or exposure to people quarantined or diagnosed with Coronavirus.

To start the online consultation you’ll receive a confirmation SMS or email with a link for you to click that quickly and easily connects you with a registered Australian doctor.

If you have previously used House Call Doctor for a home visit your contact information will already be securely stored in our system therefore saving you time.

Home visits are continuing

House Call Doctor continues have doctors in cars, making home visits to patients who need urgent medical care that is not related to Coronavirus.

Home visits are bulk-billed and bookings can be made from 6pm Monday to Friday, midday on Saturday and 24 hours on a Sunday.

When should I use Telehealth?

If you are feeling unwell with cold or flu-like symptoms and especially if you have been exposed to someone with Coronavirus or have travelled overseas recently you should consult with a doctor.

How much does it cost?

Pending approval from the Australian Government, House Call Doctor’s telehealth service will be bulk-billed through Medicare so there is no out-of-pocket expense. As soon as we have an update on this we will update this page.

What are the qualifications of the online doctors?

The same registered Australian doctors who you trust to make after-hours house calls are providing online consultations. The doctors are registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). All consultation practices are to the standards developed by the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) and the Australian College of Rural & Remote Medicine (ACRRM).
