If you’re a doctor interested in moving away from the 12 hour days of the typical medical practitioner or GP job, or you simply want to supplement your income while you pursue other interests, joining the House Call Doctor team could be the solution for you!
By delivering doctor services that are outside of regular practice hours, House Call Doctor provides a valuable community service that helps patients receive the care they need when they need it, and alleviates the daily pressure put on emergency departments (where each visit costs state health budgets between $400 and $500).
Demand for House Call Doctor services has increased significantly since the deputising service’s inception in 2015, allowing us to offer doctors jobs at the right pay, in the right area, right away.

The Role of a House Call Doctor
The typical day in the life of a House Call Doctor starts off with a home pickup by your chaperone in a company car.
Your chaperone will take care of all of the driving, accompanying you on the way to all of your calls and ensuring that you’re always working in a safe environment.
All patients are placed on a priority list by our triage call centre team and are notified when you’re about to arrive. Because patients are treated in the comfort of their own home, and know when to expect you, our doctors find their patients are usually less stressed than those waiting in a regular GP’s office.
In addition to having calmer patients, one of the unique bonuses of our doctor’s jobs is that you gain access to additional insights into your patient’s day-to-day lives, which allows you to provide better treatment in many circumstances.
House Call Doctors are able to gauge the level of independence and support available to elderly patients, they can see the family dynamics affecting sick children, and they can get an idea of the lifestyles of patients with chronic illness.
Our bulk-billed services are available to everyone with a Medicare and DVA card, and you’ll make calls to a variety of places, including homes, motels, retirement villages and nursing homes. Young children and seniors make up a large percentage of call outs.
After your shift, you won’t have to spend hours taking care of paperwork either. The vast majority of administrative work is taken care of by our in-house team.
Doctors Jobs: What We Offer
The package that comes with our doctor and GP jobs offers unrivalled working conditions, remuneration and work-life balance.
