For many Australians, the Christmas period is their favourite time of year, a chance to celebrate with our friends and family – to eat, drink and be merry.  However, just because it’s Christmas doesn’t mean that some Australians won’t need medical care during the holidays.  Accidents do happen and people can fall sick at any time of year, so it’s helpful to expect the unexpected.

Fortunately, there are home doctors you can phone if your regular GP is closed throughout Christmas public holiday period.

House Call Doctor would like to remind everyone that our doctors will be on the roads as per normal and we are open on all public holidays.  This means that even on Christmas Day, you can have a doctor visit your home. All House Call Doctor consultations are 100% bulk-billed for Medicare or DVA cardholders.

Our doctors can offer your family peace of mind to enjoy the festive season safely.  If you need medical care when your normal GP is closed during the holidays and it can’t wait, phone House Call Doctor on 13 55 66.  Alternatively, book on our website or download the free House Call app.

The Christmas period public holidays for 2016 are listed below.  Remember, House Call Doctors will be on the road each day, and 24 hours on public holidays:

  • Sunday 25th Dec (Christmas Day)
  • Monday 26th Dec (Boxing Day)
  • Tuesday 27th Dec
  • Sunday 1st Jan (New Year’s Day)
  • Monday 2nd Jan

For all other days, our service operates as normal: 6pm-8am weekdays, 12pm onwards Saturday, Sunday 24 hours.

Wishing your family a safe and Merry Christmas, and a healthy and Happy New Year!

It is important that everyone has a regular GP for their ongoing health care. Our service provides after-hours home visits on behalf of your GP and provides a follow-up report to them the next day. If you have a condition that can’t wait, and your regular GP is closed, call House Call Doctor on 135566, book online or download our free app.
